How It Works for Clients

Need a certified drone pilot for your project? SkyyTask makes it easy to post your job, connect with the right pilot, and get your deliverables — all in one place, all tracked from start to finish.

Here’s exactly how it works, step by step.

Step 1: Post Your Job

Tap the + button to start a new job. You’ll fill in a few key details:

• Your name and contact info
• Location — drop a pin on the map or type in the property address
• Description of the job (Be as detailed as possible)
• Date required
• Deliverables — what you expect to receive (photos, video, inspection footage, etc.)

Step 2: Choose How You Want to Post

Once your job details are filled in, you’ll choose between two ways to reach pilots:

Open Bid

Your job goes out to every certified pilot within your chosen radius. Any pilot in that area can see it and submit a bid.

Direct Bid (Pilot Optimization)

Want more control over who sees your job? With Direct Bid, you can:

• Filter by radius
• Select up to three specialization categories that match your project
• Hit accept to send your job only to pilots who fit that exact criteria

This gives you a more targeted pool of qualified pilots to choose from. Bids submitted through Direct Bid are kept private and are only visible to you and the pilots you’ve selected.

Either way, once your job is live, nearby pilots can start submitting bids.

Step 3: Review Bids and Chat with Pilots

As bids come in, you’ll be able to see each pilot’s offer. Many pilots will also reach out through the built-in one-to-one chat — a free, real-time messaging tool right in the app — to introduce themselves, ask questions, and explain how they can help with your specific job.

This is a great way to get a feel for who you’re working with before you decide. Pilots who communicate clearly and transparently are often your best bet.

Step 4: Choose Your Pilot

Once you’ve reviewed your options, select the pilot you want to work with. The job is then locked in and scheduled for your chosen date.

Step 5: Pilot Arrives On-Site

On the day of your job, your pilot will check in through the app when they arrive. You’ll get a notification letting you know they’re on-site and getting to work.

Step 6: Receive Your Deliverables

Once the job is complete, your pilot uploads your deliverables through SkyyTask’s secure portal via a Google Drive link. You’ll receive a 4-digit passcode to unlock and access your files — safe, simple, and just for you.

Step 7: How It Works — Download and You’re Done

Enter your passcode, open your Google Drive link, and download your files. Once you’ve retrieved your deliverables, your project is complete.
