How It Works for Clients
Need a certified drone pilot for your project? SkyyTask makes it easy to post your job, connect with the right pilot, and get your deliverables, all in one place, all tracked from start to finish.
Here’s exactly how it works, step by step.
Post Your Job
Tap the + button to start a new job. You’ll fill in a few key details:
Your name and contact info
Location, drop a pin on the map or type in the property address
Description of the job (Be as detailed as possible)
Date required
Deliverables, what you expect to receive (photos, video, inspection footage, etc.)
Choose How You Want to Post
Once your job details are filled in, you’ll choose between two ways to reach pilots:
Your job goes out to every certified pilot within your chosen radius. Any pilot in that area can see it and submit a bid.
Want more control over who sees your job? With Direct Bid, you can:
- Filter by radius
- Select up to three specialization categories that match your project
- Hit accept to send your job only to pilots who fit that exact criteria
This gives you a more targeted pool of qualified pilots to choose from. Bids submitted through Direct Bid are kept private and are only visible to you and the pilots you’ve selected.
Either way, once your job is live, nearby pilots can start submitting bids.
Review Bids and Chat with Pilots
As bids come in, you’ll be able to see each pilot’s offer. Many pilots will also reach out through the built-in one-to-one chat, a free, real-time messaging tool right in the app, to introduce themselves, ask questions, and explain how they can help with your specific job.
Note: You can use either the web or the app. Be sure to download the app to receive real-time push notifications for new bids and chats from pilots.
Choose Your Pilot
Once you’ve reviewed your options, select the pilot you want to work with. The job is then locked in and scheduled for your chosen date.
Accepting a Bid
Once a bid is on the table, the pilot can choose to accept your offer, or you can negotiate one round back and forth. Once a price is agreed upon, you must pay via Stripe for the job in full. That payment is held in escrow until the pilot has completed the job and submitted the deliverables.
Please provide the pilot with the four-digit OTP code so they can start the job.
Pilot Arrives On-Site
On the day of your job, your pilot will check in through the app when they arrive. You’ll get a notification letting you know they’re on-site and getting to work.
Remember to send the pilot the four-digit code when they check in on-site.
Receive Your Deliverables
Once the job is complete, your pilot uploads your deliverables through SkyyTask’s secure portal via a Google Drive link. You’ll receive a 4-digit passcode to unlock and access your files, safe, simple, and just for you.
Be sure to get your four-digit code from your pilot for your Google Drive access.
Deliverables: Access Your Google Drive
Enter your passcode, open your Google Drive link, and download your files. Once you’ve retrieved your deliverables, your project is complete.
Click ACKNOWLEDGE in the app or web page for the job.

What’s Next — How It Works Keeps Getting Better
