SkyyTask connects clients with FAA Part 107 certified drone pilots nationwide through a free mobile app. Post a job and licensed local pilots respond with bids within minutes.

SkyyTask connects pet owners with FAA certified drone pilots equipped with thermal cameras. Post a job with your pet's last known location and a certified pilot near you responds fast.

SkyyTask is a nationwide platform operating across all 50 states. Our marketplace connects clients with licensed operators anywhere in the United States, from major metropolitan hubs to rural properties. When you post a mission, our location radius system instantly broadcasts the project details to verified, licensed pilots within your specific geographical area.

To unlock the SkyyPilot cockpit, you must hold an active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and maintain full compliance with federal regulations. During your profile setup, you are required to submit your 7-to-10 digit certification number, proof of commercial drone insurance (or "Pay by the Flight"), and a valid government-issued ID. Our database syncs with the official FAA pilot registry every 30 days to verify currency. Your name must appear on the active federal list before system approval, or our team can manually verify and unlock your account once your physical documentation is confirmed.

Click the "Contact Us" icon in the app -or- Email: skyytasksupport@skyytask.com

In the SkyyTask - request a drone app, click the "+" symbol and proceed to complete the required fields. Once done, you can click "Direct Bid" to select a pilot by viewing their portfolio -or- click "Open Bid" to send to all drone pilots within the radius of the job location.

Every operator on SkyyTask must upload a valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. Our automated system cross-references credentials and tracks ongoing recurrent training parameters natively to block unverified flyers from taking jobs.

Safety is non-negotiable. If severe weather alerts prevent flight operations, the mission is safely paused through the dashboard. You can reschedule the flight with your operator or cancel the request at no penalty.

Drone pilot FAQ

What areas does SkyyTask cover?
SkyyTask operates nationwide across all 50 states, connecting clients with certified drone pilots no matter where their project is located.

Is it free to post a job?
Yes. It’s free to download the app, free to create an account, and free to post a job. You only pay the pilot you choose to hire.

What services can I book through SkyyTask?
SkyyTask covers a wide range of drone services, including real estate photography, roof inspections, insurance documentation, construction monitoring, event coverage, agricultural work, thermal deer and pet recovery, and more.

What’s the difference between Open Bid and Direct Bid?
Open Bid sends your job to every certified pilot within your chosen radius. Direct Bid (Pilot Optimization) lets you filter by radius and specialization, sending your job only to a targeted group of matching pilots — with bids kept private from other pilots.

How do I choose which pilot to hire?
Once bids come in, you can chat directly with pilots in real time to ask questions and get a feel for who you’re working with. Pilots who communicate clearly and explain how they can help are usually the strongest choice.

How do I receive my deliverables?
Once your pilot completes the job, they’ll upload your files through SkyyTask’s secure portal via a Google Drive link. You’ll receive a 4-digit passcode to access and download your deliverables.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a job?
Once a pilot is chosen and the job is locked in, contact your pilot directly through the in-app chat to coordinate any changes to timing or scope.

How much does it cost to hire a drone pilot?
Pricing varies by job and pilot, since SkyyTask currently uses a bidding system. You’ll see exact pricing before choosing which pilot to hire.

Can I chat with a pilot before choosing them?
Yes. SkyyTask includes free, real-time one-to-one chat, so you can ask questions and get a feel for a pilot before selecting them for your job.

Can I become a pilot on SkyyTask?
Yes. If you hold a valid FAA Part 107 certification, you can join the SkyyTask pilot network for free and start receiving job alerts in your area.

How do I get chosen for a job?
Pilots who use the in-app chat to introduce themselves and clearly explain how they can help the client are consistently more successful than those who only submit a price. Professional, transparent communication matters more than being the fastest or cheapest bid.

How and when do I get paid?
Once you’ve completed the job and the client has downloaded their deliverables, mark the job as finished in the app to begin the payment process.

Are SkyyTask pilots certified?
Yes. Every pilot on SkyyTask holds a valid FAA Part 107 certification and is cross-verified against the FAA Airmen database before joining the platform.

Do I need my own insurance as a pilot?
Pilots without a current policy can use Pay by the Flight insurance to join the network. Some states have specific licensing requirements for certain job types, and pilots are responsible for confirming compliance with any state-specific requirements.
